Scott-HabetzScott J. Habetz, MD is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. After graduating with Honors in 2000, he began Orthopaedic Surgery residency training at LSU Medical Center- New Orleans, finishing training in 2005. In 2006, he completed subspecialty fellowship training in Upper Limb Surgery at North Shore Hospital and in Sports Medicine at Adidas Sports and in Sports Medicine, both in Auckland, New Zealand.

Dr. Habetz returned to the Bone and Joint Clinic in 2007. He was elected Chief of Surgery at Ochsner- West Bank in 2013 and continues to serve in that capacity. He is a member of the Greater New Orleans Orthopaedic Society, serving as president in 2015 and 2016. He is an active member in multiple medical societies, including the Jefferson Parish Medical Society, Louisiana Orthopaedic Association, and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, among others. He is board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery, specializing in shoulder conditions and sports medicine, with special interests in shoulder arthroscopy and shoulder arthroplasty.

Dr. Habetz is a lifelong resident of South Louisiana and has resided in the New Orleans area since 1996.
