Gina CahillGina Cahill, MD is a board eligible orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery, with a special interest in sports foot and ankle injuries.

Dr. Cahill attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma and completed her residency training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She then went on to complete an extra year of fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery at the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute in Chicago.

Dr. Cahill treats a variety of orthopedic conditions, but specializes in foot and ankle fractures, ankle arthroscopy and ligament repair, tendon injuries, ankle replacements, and other lower extremity injuries and conditions. She aims to restore patient health and function as quickly and safely as possible. She believes in involving patients in all aspects of their care and tries to exhaust all non-operative options before proceeding with surgery.

Dr. Cahill grew up in Allen, Texas and attended the University of Oklahoma for her undergraduate degree where she was a member of the Women’s Gymnastics Team. She continues to be involved in the sport and has served as Team Physician/Covering Physician for both collegiate and high school teams.

Dr. Cahill recently relocated to New Orleans with her husband Casey, who is an ophthalmologist with Ochsner Clinic Foundation.


Dr. Gina Cahill was invited to provide orthopedic medical coverage for gymnasts at the Metroplex Challenge Gymnastics Competition occurring Feb 15th-18th, 2024 in Fort Worth, TX.  Her expertise in orthopedics, specifically foot and ankle injuries combined with her previous experience as a gymnast  during her studies at the University of Oklahoma make her the perfect Orthopedic Physician to provide medical attention during this event.
